Visual Art

Visual Art at Northcote Primary School

The Visual Art program at Northcote Primary School encourages students to explore their creativity through a variety of techniques, materials, and artistic approaches, including painting, drawing, sculpting, printmaking, collage, and textiles. Each unit is inspired by different artists, styles, and movements, allowing students to develop their artistic voice and experiment with new ideas. All students participate in a one-hour lesson each week, ensuring they have regular opportunities to engage in creative expression.

Our well-equipped art room provides a spacious and dynamic environment for hands-on learning. With a wide range of materials, including a pottery kiln for clay projects. We also invite artists into our school, giving students insight into how artists work within the community

Student artwork is proudly displayed around the school for everyone to enjoy. Every two years, we celebrate our students’ creativity at the Northcote Primary School Art Show, showcasing the incredible work they’ve created throughout the year. Families and the local community are invited to join us in celebrating their artistic achievements.
